
How old are Saturn's rings? The dazzling ice belt and dust continues to keep secret his age: to date, are still two plausible hypotheses.
The first has it that the rings have an age of about 4.5 billion years, then more or less the age of
Saturn. The second argues that the rings are recently (in astronomical terms) training: they more or less 100 million years.
The two scenarios were discussed during the recent meeting on Planetary Sciences of the American Astronomical Society.
