We tend to look at creativity as a strictly human trait, but can computers be creative too? In 1952, British computer scientist
Christopher Strachey programmed the Mark 1 baby computer to generate love
poetry. The result was generated from a database of romantic verbs and nouns-something of romance version of Mad Libs. Artificial intelligence has also produced musical compositions, fiction stories, and original paintings. A recent project sought to discover if robots could be proud of their own... feces. This is because Freud said a child's fascination with their own poop is their first awareness of their ability to create.
